Volunteers

The STC Toronto Community would like to invite applications from all our members for positions as Activity Managers/Assistant Managers and Executive Team members and Assistants for the coming year. Members will need to be nominated/acclaimed for a position on the team.

If you want to take part in blazing a new course for our community, and in making a dynamic difference as a team member, please take a look at the Job Specifications posted under the respective links of the Exec Committee page of our Web-site, and get in touch with us as soon as possible.

STC Toronto runs on volunteers, who:

  • organize the meetings
  • welcome visitors at the door
  • speak at the meetings
  • write and produce the newsletter
  • maintain job bank
  • run the competition
  • mentor new writers
  • update the Web site
  • hold special interest group meetings
  • and do all other services that we provide

Thanks to volunteers, you can meet and learn from interesting people who are leaders in the field of technical communication, enhance your professional development, and accelerate your career. And if you volunteer, you meet others in the industry and show them how well you work, as well as valuable work and team experience!

From time to time we post volunteer opportunities with non-profit organizations. These give you a chance to expand your experience and add to your portfolio.

The Volunteer Manager coördinates people who want to volunteer with jobs that need to be done.
