Do you want to learn how to create documents that people actually use? I offer expert tutoring in an open and patient environment for new and intermediate technical writers. I have been working as a technical communicator since 1997, and in the software industry since 1990. The subjects I teach include:

  • Creating documents that are clear, consistent, practical, accurate, complete and meaningful
  • Bullet-proof techniques for tracking changes and unresolved documentation questions
  • Juggling multiple projects simultaneously without losing your mind
  • Effectively using FrameMaker, Microsoft Word and WebWorks Publisher
  • Creating an excellent index and table of contents
  • Secrets of the trade: what they don’t teach you in tech writing school!

In addition, I offer specialized general career management and counseling for technical communicators, including;

  • Creating resumes that can help get you interviews
  • How to "win" a job at an interview
  • General job hunting and networking techniques
  • Managing your career so that you remain indispensable

Rate is $50/hour. Will travel to your location in the greater Toronto area. Please call evenings after 6PM.
