I offer expert tutoring in an open and patient environment for new and intermediate technical writers.
I have been working as a technical communicator since 1997, and in the software industry since 1990. The
subjects I teach include:
- Creating documents that are clear, consistent, practical, accurate, complete and meaningful
- Bullet-proof techniques for tracking changes and unresolved documentation questions
- Juggling multiple projects simultaneously without losing your mind
- Effectively using FrameMaker, Microsoft Word and WebWorks Publisher
- Creating an excellent index and table of contents
- Secrets of the trade: what they don’t teach you in tech writing school!
In addition, I offer specialized general career management and counseling for technical communicators, including;
- Creating resumes that can help get you interviews
- How to "win" a job at an interview
- General job hunting and networking techniques
- Managing your career so that you remain indispensable
Rate is $50/hour. Will travel to your location in the greater Toronto area. Please call evenings after 6PM.
