Front Runner Presents:
Time Enough for Training
by Joyce Aldrich-Halfin

Have you ever been in a training session and said, “I wish I had known this yesterday?”

While sitting in front of your computer screen, in the midst of a project, with the deadline fast approaching, how often have you wished you knew a few more shortcuts, or a simpler solution?

Perhaps you’ve considered upgrading either your program and/or your skills, but just don’t have the time.

If any of this sounds remotely familiar to you, then, it’s quite possible that the right tools aren’t in place for you to do your job as effectively as you’d like to.

Many times, companies are forced to go ahead with projects, without the right program or training in place. “Making do” becomes the next best thing, but sometimes creates problems along the way. Forensic wizardry can’t always magically fix the problem. So, projects may be put on hold or never happen at all.  Making program adjustments, updating training on the spot or out-sourcing the work all costs time and money…and that’s the bottom line…money.

So, if time is money and money is time, then budgeting in those value-added items, like training and program upgrades, would go a long way toward ensuring that all systems are go for businesses. Some advantages to keeping current are the abilities to produce quality products, meet company expectations and generate profits.

Keeping this in mind, consider the value of ongoing training and software upgrades.  Many successful companies have in-house training, which demonstrates the value having employees working at optimum productivity.  Companies, who rely on an outside training provider, also understands that enhancing skills enhances what they are capable of doing.  This is true, especially when the learning is delivered at an accelerated pace with practical applications, according to the needs of the client.  Cutting down on class time or providing on-site training has people back on the job, with little interruption, which is beneficial.

Partnering with a good training provider, like Front Runner, who is in touch with your business, on a regular basis, may well relieve many job-related stresses.  Including on-going training and software upgrades into a budget shows prudence.  It’s the proverbial “ounce of prevention.”

Front Runner has been providing computer training and publishing solutions since 1997 with a proven track record serving individuals, small businesses and Fortune 500 companies. Personalized service has been the hallmark of this company, placing the needs of the client at the forefront.

Continuing in our tradition of bringing comprehensive training to our clients, Front Runner will be offering Soft Skills training, by accredited trainers, starting in January 2005.

Inventories like “Personality Dimensions” and Myers-Briggs, which help to harmonize the workplace and promote teamwork, along with Business Communications and Train the Trainer will be added to our extensive roster.

We are very excited to be offering these courses, as we understand how valuable these tools are in helping you, our clients, to further develop your skill sets.  To assist you in fitting both Computer and Soft Skills training into your very busy schedules, Front Runner will be running evening and Saturday courses.  Just call and book. Training Courses and Dates are flexible. So, in closing, we leave you with this…

Take the time to train and training will save you time…
