Ralph Robinson

Ralph Robinson Ralph Robinson is an active senior member of the STC Toronto chapter and a member of ASQ (American Society for Quality). He has been in the technical communication field for over 19 years, dealing exclusively with ISO matters for the last 13 years. Now retired from active employment, Ralph continues to consult on ISO standards matters through his company R2 Innovations.

Ralph wrote the award-winning book, Documenting ISO 9000: Guidelines for Compliant Documentation and has won an award of excellence in the 2001 technical publications contest for Documenting ISO 9001:2000. He has also written numerous articles for trade publications on ISO standards and policy and procedure writing.

Ralph has made presentations on this subject for a variety of associations, and currently lectures on ISO at Sheridan College of Applied Arts and Technology in Toronto, Canada.

In 2004 Ralph was recognized by the Toronto Chapter with a Distinguished Chapter Service Award, and in 2005 he was recognized by the Policy & Procedures SIG with the first Distinguished SIG Service Award. In 2006 Ralph was made an Associate Fellow of the STC for his work on international standards.

Ralph is a member of the STC Standards Council and an active member of a Standards Council of Canada advisory group. He serves as the Canadian Head of Delegation for Working Group 2 of the ISO/IEC Joint Technical Committee 1, Sub-committee 7 which is working to develop international standards for software and systems engineering.
