Andrew Brooke graduated from Ryerson in 1988 with a degree in Graphic Communications Management (B. Tech). He worked as a production co-ordinator, then changed careers to work in the software industry. Later, at Symantec, he provided phone and newsgroup technical support for WinFax. He contributed to the Knowledge Base of support documents, and managed an online support tool. This experience led Andrew into the field of technical communication. In 1998, Andrew joined i2 Technologies as a technical writer. His projects included API and EDI manuals, a data dictionary, an installation manual, online help, user manuals, read-me files, and release notes. In 2003, Andrew joined InSystems as a technical writer, where he documents software solutions for the insurance and financial industries. In 2004, he was promoted to Senior Technical Writer. (InSystems was later acquired by Whitehill Technologies, which, in turn, was acquired by Skywire Software.) Andrew blogs regularly at http://techwriters-world.blogspot.com/.
