language and jargon"
Sally McBeth will speak to us about the powerful principles of plain language, the complexities of jargon, and the upcoming Plain Language Conference in September. Sally McBeth will be co-host of the fourth conference of Plain Language Association International (PLAIN). PLAIN is dedicated to improving the quality and clarity of communication. This year’s conference theme is "At the Heart of Communication — across Disciplines and around the World." The conference will take place in Toronto 26 – 29 September, 2002. For more information, go to the PLAIN Web site at www.plainlanguagenetwork.org. Clear Language and Design is the plain language editing and consulting service of East End Literacy in Toronto. CLAD a public education program of the Toronto East End Literacy Project. East End Literacy is a non-profit organization that helps adults learn to read and write. It also educates the public about literacy issues. CLAD provides editing and consulting on a fee for service basis.
