Oleg Kuzin's professional life as a translator spans over 40 years, in countries skills as France, the United States, and Canda.

Over this period, he exercised his talents for the US Air Force, Thomas J. Lipton, Canadian Tire and General Motors, whence he retired in 2001.

Mr Kuzin has done translation in such varied fields as consumer food products, retail hardware and automotive sales and service.

He was also the publisher of the 12,000-word General Motors Automotive Terminology for 17 years.

He created and implemented the Translation Statistical Process Control Tool; it was used to evaluate translations done for General Motors by outside suppliers.

His presentation tonight is "Translation 101." It helps you to understand

  • What translation is
  • What government regulations make it necessary
  • How to work with a professional translator for a satisfying and successful professional relationship.

On a personal note, he likes travel, photography, fitness, healthy cooking and eating and the occasional glass of wine.
