Kevin von Appen directs the development and operation of the Ontario Science Centre’s Internet initiatives, computer-based exhibits and publications, and also oversees the science writing and exhibit translation at the Science Centre. He has been at the Centre since 1987.

He is also a champion of usability testing and user-centred design. He championed the creation of a usability lab and user-centred design process at Cyberplex Interactive Media, as the firm's senior communications specialist. He and his partners in Content Under Pressure, Inc., has co-developed creative projects for AOL Canada, Sympatico, MSN, Bell Emergis and Canoe.ca.

Kevin's background is in journalism and he has written extensively for new media.
