2004 - 2005 STC Toronto Regional Competition Results

The results of the 2004-2005 Technical Publications, Online Communications and Technical Art competitions have been compiled. This year, we received 30 entries including:

• 24 in the Technical Publications competition,
• 5 entries in the Online Communications competition, and
• 1 entry in the Technical Art competition.

Entries receiving a distinguished award are automatically entered in the International level of competition Society-wide. Congratulations to all of our winners!

2004 - 2005 Judges

Volunteers from the Twin Cities chapter in Minnesota judged entries submitted to the Southwestern Ontario and Toronto chapters for this year's competition. Volunteers from the Southwestern Ontario and Toronto chapters judged the entries from the Minnesota chapter.

STC members enter their work in our competition not only with the hope of receiving an award, but also with the expectation of receiving a thorough critique with constructive feedback from knowledgeable professionals. This year's judges certainly met and exceeded this expectation. Taking time out of their busy professional and personal schedules, they attended a training day to learn how to evaluate entries consistently and fairly, and then worked in small teams to judge approximately 35 entries submitted from the Minnesota Twin Cities chapter. Their fair, impartial, and constructive evaluation and judging comments, although anonymous, reflect the credibility of STC competitions and our profession.

The Toronto chapter extends it sincere thanks to this year's competition organizers, Vivian Viitala, Mona Albano, and Lori Shantz, and to all of the judges that have worked hard to put on another successful competition.
