19981999 Awards

Chapter-level Recognition

Congratulations All 'Round!

On behalf of the Executive, thank you to everyone who contributed to another successful year. In particular, we’re proud to recognize…

Pacesetter Award

The Pacesetter Award recognizes an individual or committee of the Toronto chapter that has shown innovation or creativity related to ideas for or execution of STC activities. This award is not necessarily given every year. This year, however, there are several recipients. They are:

  • Diane Kress – for contributing numerous ideas and practical support to significantly enhance our meetings and other events
  • Anna Parker and Robert Milkovich – for their efforts in maintaining and upgrading one of the busiest online Job Banks in all of STC
  • Colette Theriault – for creativity in revamping the look of our newsletter, contributing to its award-winning status.

President's Award

The President’s Award recognizes "a person who has made a significant contribution to the Toronto chapter’s year and is not otherwise sufficiently recognized." Members, non-members and executive are all eligible.

Since the President's Award began three years ago, the President has found it impossible to make only one annual award. Once again, we have a President's Bouquet. The recipients of the 1999 President’s Award are:

  • Deanna Dunn – for unhesitatingly accepting the challenge of producing an outstanding, award-winning monthly newsletter
  • Kim Grant – for creative leadership in our successful Fall Education Day, and for rescuing our Volunteer program
  • Tony Iacovino – for carrying off his unexpected role as Program Manager with grace and efficiency.

Outstanding Chapter Rookie

Members whose volunteer efforts begin within their first year of STC membership are eligible for Rookie Awards. This year our chapter is proud to recognize new members for volunteer efforts contributing to the chapter’s success in 1998-99.

  • Tom Cauchon
  • Grace Chung
  • Nina Kolunovsky
  • Henry Lee
  • Sharon O'Meara
  • Sukanya Shankar
  • Joe Vaira

Friends of STC Toronto

Friends of STC Toronto will include any individual or group that has made a significant contribution to the STC Toronto chapter but is not a member. No person or group may win this award more than once. The chapter executive identifies these award winners.

  • Pearce McMahon – the lovely and lovable daughter of Membership Manager Laurie Pearce, for helping throughout the year with updating the membership database and mailing out newsletters to non-members
  • John Kenny – for your always-cheerful attitude while providing us with all the equipment we need for our monthly meetings
  • Chris Trenton – for your always-cheerful attitude while providing us with all the equipment we need for our monthly meetings
